LEE, WALKER COUNTIES ENACT BURN BANS
Two more area counties have issued burn bans.
Monday, Lee and Walker Counties joined Colorado County as the only counties in the region with active burn bans. As of today (Tuesday), there are 74 counties statewide under burn bans.
A burn ban prohibits outdoor burning until the ban is lifted. The bans are effective until further notice from county officials.
At this point, there are no burn bans in place in Washington, Austin, Burleson, Brazos, Fayette, Grimes, or Waller Counties.
