BURLESON CO. SHERIFF THOMAS NORSWORTHY RESIGNS

  

The Sheriff of Burleson County has announced he is resigning.

Burleson County Commissioners accepted the resignation of Sheriff Thomas Norsworthy during commissioners court this (Tuesday) morning.  The resignation is effective immediately.

According to Burleson County Judge Keith Schroeder, Norsworthy is resigning for personal reasons.  Schroeder said Norsworthy submitted his resignation last week, but it was officially accepted once commissioners were all able to meet this morning.

The county has begun a search for a new sheriff.  Interviews are expected to begin Thursday morning.  Those interested in the position can contact the county’s human resources department.
