FIRST BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES EVENT RAISES OVER $295,000
An online fundraiser supporting local organizations raised nearly $300,000 in its first iteration.
Final numbers are still being calculated, but preliminary totals for the first ever Brazos Valley Gives event show that $295,208 was raised through 1,840 donations.
More than $20,000 in prize funds were given to some of the 103 participating nonprofit organizations. In addition, several nonprofits raised matching funds.
The 18-hour fundraiser was put on by the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley.
Some of the organizations that participated include the Brenham ISD Education Foundation, Blinn College Foundation, CASA for Kids of South Central Texas, Hospice Brazos Valley, Miracle Farm, CHI St. Joseph Health, NAMI Brazos Valley, New Beginnings Life Ministries, the Bridge Ministries, and the Volunteer Services Council of the Brenham State Supported Living Center.
