HUNDREDS FILL DOWNTOWN BRENHAM FOR “UPTOWN SWIRL”

  

Event organizers for Main Street Brenham’s annual “Uptown Swirl” say this year’s event was one of their most successful.

Streets and businesses in downtown Brenham were buzzing Saturday afternoon with hundreds of visitors as they made their way from shop to shop, sampling a worldly variety of wines.  More than 700 wine glasses, serving as tickets for the event, were sold.

City of Brenham Tourism and Marketing Director Jennifer Eckermann says the event does a great job each year of accomplishing two main goals for Main Street Brenham.

 

Eckermann says, while the weather was a bit of a concern before the event, early rains paved the way for sunshine and cool temperatures Saturday afternoon.  She says organizers have lucked out with weather each year since the event began in 2012.
