NEW COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION TOPS JANUARY BUILDING PERMITS

  

The first City of Brenham building permits of 2020 saw a moderate increase compared to 2019.

The city issued 34 permits in January worth $4,190,738, compared to 27 permits in January 2019 for $3,842,585.

The largest permit issued in January was to Collier Construction for $1.3 million, for new office space construction for Edward Jones.

The second largest permit in January was issued to Courageous Investments, LLC for $300,000, for interior remodeling at Anytime Fitness.

Another notable permit in January was issued to David Wellmann for $228,110, for interior and exterior remodeling at Wellmann Insurance.

Nine new homes were permitted in January, worth $1,142,068.  Last January, ten new homes were permitted for $993,460.
