BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS CITY-BIG SANITATION AGREEMENT IN WORKSHOP THURSDAY

Talks on the City of Brenham’s plans to outsource its sanitation operations will continue Thursday in a special workshop session of the Brenham City Council.

Councilmembers will continue discussion on an agreement between the city and Brannon Industrial Group (BIG) for municipal solid waste collection, disposal, and recycling services.

Further details of the agreement were fleshed out at last week’s council meeting, which covered BIG’s providing of curbside solid waste collection and curbside recycling, its operation of the collection/transfer station, the continued offering of recycling services for Washington County residents, and its handling of city employees.

The first portion of the finalized agreement is expected to come before council at its next regular meeting next Thursday, February 20th.

The council will meet Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m., at Brenham City Hall.
