WASHINGTON CO. 4-H EARNS HONORS AT SA STOCK SHOW LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST

Eleven Washington County 4-Hers participated in the 71st San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo on February 23rd in the Livestock Judging Contest, with several taking home high honors.

Washington County 4-H had three Junior teams competing in a contest of 109 registered teams and 344 individual 4-Hers.  Those teams consisted of:

  • Washington County A – Madison Moran, Paige Fritsch, Hailey Rudloff, Ali Tiemann
  • Washington County B – William Schomburg, Dawson Moran, Mallory Winkelmann, Taiden Thiel
  • Washington County C – Dalton Winkelmann, Randa Tillman, Justin Silva

Washington County Team A earned reserve champion honors with a second place finish in the Junior division, just ten points from the first place team score.

Madison Moran, Fritsch, Rudloff, and Tiemann were awarded at the contest recognition program.  Fritsch also received second place High Point Junior Individual honors.

Finishing in the top 100 were Madison Moran at 21st, Hailey Rudloff at 64th, and Dawson Moran at 89th, out of 344 participants.

A record 1,485 youth in the 4-H and FFA programs across Texas competed in this contest.

Washington County 4-Her Paige Fritsch earned 2nd Place High Point Individual honors in the Intermediate Division of the San Antonio Stock Show.

4-Hers will compete again at judging contests coming up at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Rodeo Austin, and the District 4-H Livestock Judging Contest in April.
