MADISONVILLE POLICE SERGEANT DIES AT HOME

  

A Madisonville police officer has died unexpectedly.

Madisonville Police Sargent Hector Camarillo died at his home in College Station, Sunday.

At this time, Chief Herbert Gilbert said they do not know a cause of death.

In 2018, Sergeant Camarillo was one of three officers to accept the LIFE SAVING AWARD at the DPS Headquarters in Austin. They were reported instrumental in saving the life of a Madisonville citizen in May of 2017.

In 2010 Camarillo survived a high speed head-on collision when his patrol unit was struck by a wrong-way drunk driver on I-45.

Camarillo's body has been sent off for an autopsy.
