DRIVE-BY “ZOO” FRIDAY, SATURDAY IN BELLVILLE

  

A group of Bellville families is preparing to bring exotic “wildlife” into town.

A drive-by zoo will be held tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., south of the square in downtown Bellville.  Zoo “animals” will be on display in yards, either as simple stuffed animals or built displays.

The idea for the “Southside Zoo” was started by a group of neighbors after seeing a neighborhood in Tulsa create a drive-by zoo.  The event is free, and all are welcome to participate as a yard hosting an “exhibit”, or to just drive through and see what ideas their neighbors have come up with.

Signs will direct travelers down South Holland Street, East Hacienda Street, East Austin Street, East O’Bryant Street, Lee Lane, and South Oak Street.

Those looking to participate are asked to respect social distancing guidelines.
