98 CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES IN WASHINGTON CO.; 60 PERCENT OF CASES FROM INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES

  

Roughly 60 percent of all current confirmed COVID-19 cases in Washington County come from institutional facilities.

The county’s total number of positive COVID-19 cases sits at 98, after 13 new cases were confirmed this (Friday) morning.  According to Washington County EMS, 59 of the 98 confirmed cases are either residents or workers at institutional facilities.  The other 39 cases are from the general public.

The patients reported this morning, all in Brenham, range in age from their 50s to their 90s, and are all said to be at home under self-quarantine.

Thursday, EMS officials confirmed the deaths of three COVID-19 patients, all Brenham women in their 70s, 80s, and 90s.  Eleven COVID-19 patients in Washington County have now died from complications with the virus.

Of the 73 active cases, three patients remain hospitalized.  Fourteen people have recovered from the virus.

According to the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), as of Thursday afternoon, an estimated 435 COVID-19 tests have been performed on county residents within the county.  The number does not include non-county residents.
