LANES BACK OPEN ON HIGHWAY 105 IN GRIMES CO. AFTER MULTIPLE FATALITY ACCIDENT

  

Update @ 5:56 a.m. Saturday: At least two people were killed Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 105 in Grimes County.

DPS officials and other first responders were called out around 12:15 p.m. to the collision near the highway’s intersection with FM 362.

Two fatalities were confirmed.  DPS has not released the names of those individuals.

The highway between FM 362 and FM 1774 was closed for several hours, with travelers being detoured as authorities worked the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

 

Original Story @ 2:46 p.m. Friday: A major accident involving multiple fatalities has closed a stretch of Highway 105 in Grimes County.

Both lanes of the highway at Law Ridge Ranch, east of Navasota, are shut down as a result of the accident.  According to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, at least two people were killed in the accident.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 105 is being detoured to Highway 90 to FM 1774 back to Highway 105.  Westbound traffic is being detoured to FM 1774 to Highway 90 back to Highway 105.

TxDOT is asking drivers to avoid the area, and says traffic should be back to normal by 7 p.m.
