2020 AUSTIN CO. FAIR YOUTH LIVESTOCK AUCTION RESULTS

The 93rd Annual Austin County Fair is a wrap, and despite challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the event proved to be a success for the youth of the county.

Unofficial sale numbers following the youth livestock auction Friday total $1.2 million, but the Austin County Fair Association says those numbers are not confirmed, as it is still accepting add-ons through the end of the month.

The top seller among grand and reserve champions in this year’s auction was Jordyn Davila’s grand champion lamb, which sold to Buck Ferguson Originals for $15,000.

Two records were broken at the auction.  Cassie Moses’ reserve champion swine sold for $10,200 to SecuraTech, and the reserve champion turkey hen of Rhys Reichardt sold to the Mark Chapman Foundation for $12,000.

The grand champion steer of Cheyenne Cashdollar sold to Martinez ROW for $9,690, while Taylor Eckelberg’s reserve champion steer sold for $10,852 to SecuraTech.

Grand and reserve champions altogether sold for $163,829, with $83,797 going to grand champions and $80,032 to reserve champions.
