BRENHAM, WASHINGTON CO. OFFICES TO CLOSE FOR CHRISTMAS, NEW YEAR’S DAY
Offices in Brenham and Washington County will be closed for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
On December 24th and 25th, Brenham City Hall and the Washington County Courthouse will be closed. City hall will be closed on December 31st and January 1st, while all county offices will close at noon on December 31st and remain closed on January 1st. Brenham Municipal Court and Brenham Animal Services will also be closed, while the Blue Bell Aquatic Center will also be closed on December 26th and January 2nd.
The Collection/Transfer and Recycling Station will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day, but will have regular hours otherwise.
The Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library will be closed December 23-27 and December 31-January 3.
The Brenham and Washington County Visitor Center will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, but will have regular hours on the weekends.
There will not be any residential or commercial trash pickups on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Residential trash pickups will be made on Saturday following Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Friday customers should place their trash carts out by 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Commercial front-load routes will be made current on Saturday after Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Residents are reminded to avoid overfilling their carts during this two-week holiday period by boxing or bagging any excess waste and placing it next to their carts on their normal pickup days.
Today (Friday) is the last day of the semester for students in Brenham and Burton ISD. Brenham ISD students will return to class Tuesday, January 5th, while Burton ISD will come back Wednesday, January 6th.
