LOCAL OFFICES CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY
Local government offices are closed for the Christmas holiday.
Brenham City Hall and the Washington County Courthouse are closed today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday), along with Brenham Municipal Court and Brenham Animal Services. The Blue Bell Aquatic Center will also be closed on Saturday.
The Collection/Transfer Station and Recycling Station will be closed Christmas Day, but will have regular hours otherwise. The Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library is now closed through Sunday.
The Brenham and Washington County Visitor Center will be closed today and tomorrow, but will have regular hours on the weekend.
There will not be any residential or commercial trash pickups tomorrow.
Residential trash pickups will be made on Saturday following Christmas Day. Tomorrow’s customers should place their trash carts out by 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Commercial front-load routes will be made current on Saturday after Christmas Day.
Residents are asked to avoid overfilling their carts during the holiday by boxing or bagging any excess waste and placing it next to their carts on their normal pickup day.
Meanwhile, the offices of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative will also be closed today and tomorrow, but members can still access their account information and make payments through the co-op’s website at www.bluebonnet.coop. Members can also report power outages through the website, through the co-op’s mobile app, or by calling 800-949-4414. Should an outage occur, Bluebonnet personnel will be on call to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
Brenham and Burton ISD students are currently on holiday break. Brenham ISD students will come back to school on Tuesday, January 5th, while Burton ISD students will return Wednesday, January 6th.
