INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO HEMPSTEAD EXPLOSION

  

The investigation continues into the Christmas Eve explosion at a Hempstead home that sent one man to the hospital.

Late Thursday evening, a man went to a home on Fifth Street and when he opened the door, the home exploded, sending a massive amount of debris throughout the neighborhood and damaging numerous nearby homes and structures.

The man who tried to enter the home was life-flighted to a Houston hospital with severe burns to his face, chest and arms.

Several others near the scene were treated for minor injuries.

The Waller County Fire Marshall’s office says the investigation will take quite some time to complete.
