A south Texas man is in custody in Fayette County after authorities confiscated over 5.6 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 10:15 a.m., Fayette County Sheriff’s Sergeant Randy Thumann and K-9 Kolt stopped a Chevy Trax on I-10 at the 670 mile marker for a traffic violation.

After speaking with the driver and passenger, Sgt. Thumann received consent to search the vehicle and deployed Kolt, who alerted to the under carriage of the vehicle for the presence of illegal narcotics.

  1. I would like to see other counties be as productive as fayette county…Honestly in Washington county where I live, only theBrenham P.D. seems to affect a periodic drug bust…fayette county constantly announces these huge siezures
In Brenham we are dealing with a local college rife with drug dealing and a county narcotics unit that seems so unobtrusive that you forget they exist….I congratulate fayette county on it’s continuing success and appreciate the work of those officers

    Meanwhile we

  2. I am glad they are getting that junk off the street.
It seems that these deputies are either getting tipped off from an informant or just have the most drugs running through there stretch of highway, that or they are super cops. Good for them, but, it is in no way a normal amount of busts that these guys are always getting. I bet the surrounding departments know what the deal is(probably chaps their hides as well). These dudes are always busting mass amounts of drugs like it’s a regular day.
    Good job guys, again.
