MARC WILLIAMS NAMED AS NEW TxDOT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

(Texas Department of Transportation)
The Texas Transportation Commission has selected the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) new executive director.
Marc Williams was chosen on Wednesday to fill the post currently held by James Bass, who in February announced his intent to retire at the end of May. Williams, who has served as the agency’s deputy executive since 2016, will begin his new role June 1st, becoming the department’s 22nd executive director.
Williams has worked at TxDOT since 2012 when he joined the department as director of planning, serving in that role until 2015 when he was appointed TxDOT’s interim deputy director.
Prior to joining TxDOT, Williams’ career included leadership roles with a variety of public and private sector organizations involved with the planning, development and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects across the United States.
Williams is a graduate of Texas A&M University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas.
