The city issued a $1.1 million permit to ML Deer Construction for the civil and building shell construction of Mecom Plaza, located at 2676 Becker Drive.

Construction is expected to begin in the next six months.

Another notable permit issued in July was to the Brenham Heritage Museum for $792,915 for renovation of the historic 1916 U.S. Post Office downtown.  The museum renovations are contracted to Bullock Construction.

A total of 26 permits were issued in July for $3,091,585.  Twenty-six permits were also issued last July, but for a total of $15,019,986.

Six new homes were permitted last month for $844,670.  So far this year, the city has permitted 96 new homes for $14,633,344.

Through 2021, the city has issued 228 permits for $29,844,200.  At this time last year, the city had issued 170 permits for $69,981,501.
