ONE KILLED, TWO TRANSPORTED AFTER ACCIDENT IN BRENHAM
Update @ 11 a.m.: One person was killed and two others were transported after a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Brenham.
First responders were called out to the accident shortly after 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of South Blue Bell Road and East Alamo Street.
According to Brenham police, a vehicle traveling southbound on Blue Bell Road was struck by a northbound vehicle as it attempted to turn east onto Old Chappell Hill Road. The passenger in the southbound vehicle, 69-year-old Doris Beerbower of Brenham, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported by Washington County EMS in unknown condition.
All lanes of traffic on South Blue Bell Road and East Alamo were closed as authorities investigated the accident. Emergency responders were on scene for approximately two-and-a-half hours.
Investigation of the crash is still pending.

At the scene, authorities found heavy damage to both vehicles, with one person trapped inside one of the vehicles. The Brenham Fire Department used hydraulic tools to free the entrapped victim.
The extent of the injuries to the three people involved in the accident is unknown.
