HIGHWAY 105 BRIDGE OPENING DELAYED DUE TO HURRICANE NICHOLAS

Weather has once again affected the Highway 105 bridge project, this time delaying the traffic switch to the new bridges until later this week.
The bridges were planned to open to traffic today (Tuesday), but because of Hurricane Nicholas, they will now open on Friday.
The $33.4 million bridge project started in 2014 and had to be redesigned after flooding in 2016 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
Once traffic is shifted to the new section of Highway 105, TxDOT’s contractor, James Construction Group, will begin removing the old bridges and roadway.

FM 159 at the intersection of Highway 105 between the Brazos and Navasota River bridges will be temporarily closed while a new tie-in is constructed. A signed detour will be in place to direct the public to use Highway 105 to Highway 6 to FM 2154 to access FM 159. The tie-in work is expected to last two months.
