ONE ARRESTED AFTER SWAT STANDOFF MONDAY

The delivery of a pizza turned into a SWAT situation in Downtown Brenham Monday evening.  The Brenham Police Department reports that Monday, at 10:00 PM, officers from the Brenham Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of South St. Charles Street in reference to a report of a weapon-involved situation. During the investigation, it was revealed that Hans Obenhoff (26) of Brenham brandished a weapon at two individuals that delivered food to Obenhoff’s residence.  Obenhoff was contacted by the investigating officers and failed to comply with their commands to exit the residence. Due to the nature of the situation, the Brenham Emergency Response Team and Austin County Special Response Team were dispatched to the scene to assist. After attempting to negotiate with Obenhoff, he remained in his residence, failing to comply with officers. At approximately 12:25 AM, announcements were given over a loudspeaker after losing contact with Obenhoff. After approximately 20 minutes into the announcements, Obenhoff exited his residence and was placed into custody for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon without further incident.

Due to the collective efforts of the Brenham Police Department, Brenham Fire Department, Blinn Police Department, Washington County EMS, and Austin County Special Response Team, the incident was resolved without further incident.
