BRENHAM HOUSING AUTHORITY DEVELOPMENT LEADS SEPTEMBER BUILDING PERMITS
A Brenham Housing Authority multi-family development led the month of September for building permits issued by the City of Brenham.

The city issued a permit for $8.5 million for the 80-unit, five-building development to be located at 909 Hasskarl Drive. Work is being performed by TRW Contracting, LLC, and will include the demolition of 26 vacant duplex units, which was permitted for another $160,000.
Another notable permit issued in September was issued to Hamilton Builders Contracting for $1,747,875 for site development for the Brenham Trails apartments at 2502 South Market Street. The three-story apartment building will have 49 one- and two-bedroom apartments available to lease for seniors 55 and older.
In total, 35 permits were issued last month for $14,022,223. Last September, 29 permits were issued for $2,369,298.
Eighteen new homes were permitted in September for $3,240,171. So far this year, 126 new homes have been permitted for $20,716,168.
Through the year so far, the city has issued 310 permits for $59,580,172. Through September of last year, the city had issued 220 permits for $75,036,967.

There’s plenty of subsidized housing in Brenham, some of it is very nice, and I’d prefer to live there compared to what I can afford in the free market. The problem is that I’m neither poor enough or old enough to get onto the waiting list. Just like what happens if you get kicked off if CHIP, you can’t be just well off enough to be comfortable without becoming poorer.
You say you are Not “Poor enough” to be on their list…. Be thankful for that. Not sure what CHIP is so I can’t comment on that.
Yes so when are are public can get on wait list when will apartments be available thanks ?
