WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS PROJECT BLACK SPOTS
Washington County Commissioners will potentially move forward with an economic development project discussed during several executive sessions at their meeting Tuesday.
The court will seek to authorize the Brenham | Washington County Economic Development Director, Susan Cates, to negotiate an economic development incentive to Project Black Spots up to the amount and with the terms specified by commissioners during their executive session on October 7th.
The project has only been described thus far as one involving a business seeking to locate, stay or expand in Washington County. It has been the subject of three closed-door meetings for commissioners since September 24th.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the court will consider:
- A proclamation declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Washington County.
- A presentation from Charles Keese on repairs to the Washington County Expo event center and annex.
- Awarding an oil, gas and mineral lease on 698 acres of Washington County school land located in Tom Green County.
- A license agreement for an online vital records request application between the county and Permitium LLC.
- A request to add a secondary internet circuit for fault tolerance purposes for the county network, to be expensed to the circuits account.
- A renewal bond for Reserve Deputy Sheriff Steve Westbrook.
- A bond for Elections Administrator Carol Jackson.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
Following the regular meeting, commissioners will hold a workshop at 10 a.m. to discuss broadband with the Brazos Valley Council of Governments.
