A Tuna Christmas, by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard, begins its three-week run tomorrow (Thursday) on Unity’s Main Stage.
The sequel to Greater Tuna depicts Christmas-time in the fictional town of Tuna, Texas, the third-smallest town in the state. Radio station OKKK news personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including hot competition in the annual lawn display contest. Meanwhile, Joe Bob Lipsey’s production of “A Christmas Carol” is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Many colorful Tuna denizens, some from Greater Tuna and others appearing for the first time, join in the holiday fun.
Tomorrow night’s show is a preview performance that will feature a talk-back session after the show. Director Julia Oppenheim will hold a Director’s Chat prior to the show on December 11th.

Unity Theatre says masks are optional with the exception of the shows on December 11th and 12th. Theatre officials say masks will be required on those days to accommodate the comfort of all patrons.
Regular tickets are $27, while tickets to tomorrow night’s preview performance are $19. Student tickets and any seats unsold 15 minutes prior to the show are $15.
