Tickets are now on sale for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and Brenham Economic Development Foundation’s annual awards banquet.

The event will be held on Tuesday, January 25th at 5:30 p.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham.

The featured speaker for the banquet will be Lorie Vincent, founder and president of ACCELERATION by Design.  For nearly 30 years, Vincent has developed strategies, prospect events and marketing initiatives that have led to the creation of thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in capital investment.  She has spoken to more than 500 groups throughout her career and has worked with over 275 cities, counties, chambers, associations, utilities, cooperatives and state agencies.

A highlight of the banquet will be the announcement of the 2021 Man and Woman of the Year and the presentation of the Small Business of the Year awards.  The Blue Blazer of the Year will also be announced.

Also during the banquet, the Chamber will recognize six directors who have ended a three-year term of service on the board: Johanna Fatheree of RE/MAX Bluebonnet Properties, Aaron Gonzalez of Padgett Hearing Aid Center, Dr. Eric Alford of Baylor Scott & White – The Brenham Clinic, Paul Aschenbeck of Brenham ISD, Katie Burch of PlanNorth Architectural Co. and Dr. John Harris of Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church.  Outgoing chair Joe Robertson of Blue Bell Creameries will also be recognized for his leadership in 2021.

The Brenham Economic Development Foundation will recognize two outgoing directors: Jarvis Van Dyke of Van Dyke Rankin & Co. and Matt Bentke of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, for their nine years of service on the board.

The emcee for the evening will be Washington County District Attorney Julie Renken.

Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a reserved table seating eight, and they will be sold until January 17th.  They can be purchased at the Chamber office at 314 South Austin Street in Brenham, or by calling 979-836-3695.

The deadline to submit nominations for Man and Woman of the Year and Small Business of the Year is Friday at 5 p.m.  Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.brenhamtexas.com under “News & Events”, or they can be obtained by contacting the Chamber to have a form emailed.
