BURTON PANTHERS/LADY PANTHERS COMPETE AT BRAZOS MEET

The Burton Panther and Lady Panther Powerlifting Teams took part in their second meet of the year yesterday (Thursday) at Brazos High School in Wallis.

The Panthers sent five lifters to the meet, and four came home with medals.

Senior Eric Flores finished in 1st place for his weight class. Senior Eli Saunders took home 2nd place in his weight class. Sophomore Patrick Tavary and Freshman Colton Broesche each took home 4th place in their respective weight classes.

Burton, as a team, finished 5th among the Men's teams that were at the meet.

The Lady Panthers sent three lifters to the meet, and all three came home with medals.

Freshmen Vivian Laymen and Madison McCoy both finished 4th in their respective weight classes. Freshman Avery Applewhite finished 5th in her weight class.

Burton, as a team, finished 6th among the Women's teams that were at the meet.

The Panthers and Lady Panthers are next scheduled to compete Thursday, February 10, at Rice High School in Altair.
