FORMER BRENHAM RESIDENT BEING INDUCTED INTO TEXAS RODEO COWBOY HALL OF FAME

A former resident of Brenham is going to be among the inductees into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.
H.B. "Hub" Baker grew up on his family's farm and ranch in Brenham, where he said he developed a love for the Western way of life.
Baker attended Brenham High School, and during his time, competed in high school rodeos.
He qualified for the Texas High School Rodeo Finals in both the tie down roping, and cutting competitions.
Baker also went to Blinn College and Texas A&M University.
Later on, Baker went to the Fort Worth Stockyards in 1980, where he helped his friend, who was another former Brenham High School graduate, Billy Bob Barnett, open the iconic Honky Tonk, Billy Bob's Texas.
Baker was the executive director of the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth. He founded and produced over 2,000 performances of the Stockyards Championship Rodeo.
He is a member of the Texas Trail of Fame, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum along with many other honors in his career.
The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame inductions are being held on Saturday, April 9.
Other local inductees include Kelly Kaminski of Bellville, Justin Maass of Giddings, and Sammy Catalena of Bryan.
