MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID CLASS JULY 25 AT NANCY CAROL ROBERTS MEMORIAL LIBRARY

A Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) class is being offered this month in Brenham for anyone wanting to learn more about ways to help those battling mental health challenges.

The free community class is scheduled for Monday, July 25th from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.

The MHFA program is coordinated by MHMR Authority of the Brazos Valley and NAMI Brazos Valley.  The program teaches how to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illness and possible substance misuse, and how to connect people affected with resources that can help them.

Each class participant will receive MHFA training, a manual and a three-year certification.

Seating is limited, and registration is required.  To register, contact Angie Bates at batesmhfa@gmail.com or call 979-279-2798.
