Board members for Run for the Youth of Washington County presented the Brenham School Board on Monday with a $56,000 donation for Brenham's athletic program. The donation comes from proceeds from this year's Blue Bell Fun Run.

Brenham athletic programs received a significant contribution on Monday from a local organization.

Run for the Youth of Washington County, the group that puts on the Blue Bell Fun Run each spring, presented a $56,000 donation for Brenham athletics during Monday’s Brenham School Board meeting.

Crystal Locke, board president for Run for the Youth of Washington County, said the event has served local students and the broader community since it began in 1978.

 

 

Locke said the participation numbers and revenues from this year’s Fun Run were similar to pre-COVID totals.

The 2023 race is scheduled for March 25th.  Registration opens in October.
