BRENHAM MAN KILLED IN THREE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 290
A Brenham man was killed in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday night on Highway 290 West.
DPS reports the crash happened around 7:45 p.m. near Shady Acres Lane, between Brenham and Burton.
According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of Highway 290 and struck a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan head-on.
The Chevrolet came to a stop in the roadway, where it was then struck by an eastbound 2002 Ford F-250 towing a trailer.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 75-year-old Henry Burns, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Duane Houston.
The drivers of the Volkswagen and the Ford were both taken to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan. Injuries were suspected to be serious for the driver of the Volkswagen and minor for the driver of the Ford.
DPS says no further information can be released at this time, as investigation is ongoing.
