NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS HAPPENING IN THE AREA
With the arrival of 2023 comes many celebrations around the area to ring in the new year tomorrow (Saturday) night.
The Brenham Elks Lodge will host a New Year’s Eve dance beginning at 8 p.m. The Risky Liver Band will provide entertainment, and there will be a champagne toast at midnight. A complimentary breakfast will be served along with black eyed peas and cabbage. Entry is $25 per person or $40 per couple. The lodge is located at 400 East Germania Street.
Harmonie Hall in Shelby has a dance with music by Southern Daze from 8 p.m. to midnight. Doors to the hall open at 7 p.m. Black eyed peas will be offered. The bar will be open for beer, wine coolers and set-ups. No outside drinks are allowed. The kitchen will be closed, but snacks can be brought in. Tickets are $15 cash at the door. Harmonie Hall is at 509 FM 389 West.
A dance at the Round Top Rifle Hall will feature the Lost Cause Band. The hall opens at 6 p.m., with music from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. A community snack table will be open for guests to bring treats and goodies. Complimentary sliced ham and turkey will be available, and free cornbread and black eyed peas will be served at midnight. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Round Top Mercantile or Round Top State Bank. The hall is located at 710 FM 1457.
The Diamond I Venue in Dime Box will host the Sterling Country Band from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and include admission, favors, a buffet and a midnight champagne toast. Tickets are available by calling 979-540-8810, but there is limited seating. The Diamond I Venue can be found at 1081 County Road 425.
The Silos on 77 in Giddings will open at 7 p.m. for a dance from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The featured entertainment will be The Triumphs. Guests can bring in snacks, and there will be a full bar available. No outside drinks can be brought in. General admission starts at $25. Tickets can be bought at www.eventbrite.com. The venue is at 1031 County Road 223.
