BRENHAM MAYOR’S RACE TO BE CONTESTED
There will be a contested race for mayor of Brenham.
Keith Hofmann filed on Wednesday to run for mayor, along with Ward 3 Councilmember Atwood Kenjura.
Hofmann, formerly of Houston, was the chief executive officer for VeraLink Solutions, LLC and launched an independent oil and gas company. He studied finance at the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Elsewhere, Albert Wright has filed for re-election as Ward 2 Councilmember.
On the Brenham School Board, Dr. Michael Altman and Kelvin Raven will seek re-election to their seats. Bonnie Brinkmeyer has filed for the vacant position formerly held by Mark Schneider.
Update @ 12 p.m. Friday: Burton School Board incumbent Donna Boehnemann Putnam and former trustee Ande Bostain have filed for election to the board, which has three at-large positions on the ballot. The City of Burton has not said if anyone has filed for the Burton City Council.

The deadline to apply for a place on the May 6th ballot is Friday, February 17th.
