KEITH HOFMANN TO RUN FOR MAYOR OF BRENHAM

An executive in finance and project management, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, is seeking election to become the next mayor of Brenham.

Keith Hofmann

Keith Hofmann filed on Wednesday for the mayor’s seat currently held by Milton Tate, who is not running for another term.  Hofmann and Ward 3 City Councilmember Atwood Kenjura have filed for the position thus far.

Hofmann has served as Chief Financial Officer at Wells Fargo Bank and Senior Client Relationship Manager at IBM Global Solutions.  He owns and operates the oil and gas exploration company, GeckoRim, LLC.  He served in the Marine Corps from 1985-1989 and attained the rank of E-5 sergeant.

Hofmann says he recently visited with Tate to talk about the position of mayor, and that Tate’s response is something he will strive to do if elected: keep a positive attitude, and instead of asking what is wrong with Brenham, ask how to make it even better.

Hofmann has lived in Brenham for the past two years, moving to the city after his family’s home in Houston flooded during Hurricane Harvey.  He believes he can support Brenham with an objective look at some of the challenges facing the city like infrastructure, economics and growth, while also seeing how the different pieces of the city’s expansion fit together to avoid making it too expensive to live in.

Hofmann says his philosophy to serving as mayor will be equal treatment, openness with the public, and community involvement.

Filing for the Brenham City Council elections on May 6th – except for the Ward 3 council seat – is open through February 17th.  Anyone wishing to file for the Ward 3 position can do so between February 2nd and March 6th
