‘HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES’ TO FEATURE LATIN BEAT OF SHEKERE
The next edition of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” tomorrow (Saturday) night will have a distinct Latin flair.
Shekere, a seven-piece band from Houston, will spice up downtown Brenham with both English and Latin pop. The group will take the stage at the corner of Alamo and Baylor Streets at 7 p.m.
Brenham Main Street Manager Leigh Linden says Shekere aims to really get the crowd moving.
Alongside the free music, guests can enjoy food and refreshments offered by local businesses and vendors. The west end of Alamo Street will be packed with classic cars and vehicles as part of the Stray Katz Car Club’s cruise-in.
Shekere’s performance is presented by the City of Brenham and sponsored by BRIANNAS Fine Salad Dressings, Las Americas Latin Cuisine, Deep in the Heart Farms and RCR Rail Co.
Leading up to the main concert, Visit Brenham’s local musician series will host Ryann Elise, who will perform original songs and covers on the Alamo Alley stage from 5 to 6:30 p.m. She will also play during Shekere’s first intermission.
KTEX-106’s Courtney Cartwright will introduce Shekere on stage.
