Board members will consider a Certificate of Appropriateness (CoA) application from Pioneer Smokehouse and Mercantile, 309 South Park Street.
Per the application, the restaurant was notified in November that health code now requires its outdoor smoker to be enclosed. The restaurant is looking to build a simple structure around the smoker trailer that could be easily roofed with weathered tin and screened with metal screening. The bottom half of the structure will be completed with weathered tin to match the surrounding buildings.
As the enclosure is being built, the restaurant also wants to add a covered deck adjacent to the smoker using matching materials. The addition would serve as a covered seating area.
City staff recommends approval of the application.
In other business, the board will look to elect a chairperson and vice chairperson for a one-year term. It will then hear an administrative report in work session.
The board will meet Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Brenham City Hall.
