‘THE STAR-SPANGLED GIRL’ BEGINS THURSDAY AT UNITY THEATRE

  

Unity Theatre in Brenham opens showings tonight (Thursday) for a witty and heartwarming comedy.

The Star-Spangled Girl, by Neil Simon, runs through June 30^th on Unity’s Main Stage.

The story follows the lives of Andy and Norman, who are operating their apartment as a publishing office for a “protest” magazine in San Francisco in 1967.  The two become smitten with Sophie, an Olympic swimmer and all-American girl who moves into an apartment on the same floor. 

Unity Executive Artistic Director Kate Revnell-Smith says the story “resonates with themes of friendship, love, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Tonight’s preview performance will include a talk back session with members of the cast and creative team after the show.  On June 22^nd, there will be a director’s chat half an hour before the performance.
