DIME BOX BLACK BRIDGE FESTIVAL, MINI-MARATHON OCT. 4-5
The Dime Box Lions Club invites the public to the 50th anniversary edition of its Black Bridge Festival and Mini-Marathon.
The two-day event is set for Friday and Saturday, October 4th and 5th, in downtown Dime Box.
The festivities begin on Friday at 6 p.m. with a free will donation dinner, the start of the barbecue cook-off, a street dance with the Chase Kimey Band beginning at 6:30 p.m., and a domino tournament at 7 p.m.
Saturday will open at 9 a.m. with a mini-marathon and the continuation of the cook-off. There will be a parade at 1 p.m., the Little Mister and Miss Dime Box contest at 2 p.m., a junior pitmaster competition also at 2 p.m., and an auction at 4 p.m. In addition, music will be provided all day long by CK and the DJ Curtis Krause, Kimberlin Krause and Gary Durrenberger.
Other activities on Saturday will include craft booths, a cornhole tournament at the Dime Box Black Bridge Park at 1 p.m., and an open house at the Dime Box Heritage Society and Museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proceeds from the event go toward the Dime Box Lions Club Scholarship Fund, the Black Bridge Park initiative and other Lions Club projects.
