SOMERVILLE ISD STUDENT ARRESTED AFTER MAKING THREAT AGAINST LOCAL SCHOOL

A Somerville ISD student was taken into custody this (Tuesday) morning after being accused of making a threat towards the Elementary/Intermediate School campus.

The Somerville Elementary/Intermediate campus, which is located at 700 8th Street, is home to students in Pre-Kindergarten through the 7th Grade.

The school district has not released any details on the threat, which led to the campus being put on a brief hold.

The hold allowed law enforcement to locate the student, arrest them, and remove them from campus.

Information on the student could not be released due to the suspect’s age.

Somerville ISD like many schools encourage a “See Something, Say Something” mentality.

They released a statement saying that they appreciate their staff, students, and law enforcement taking the threat seriously, and notifying campus administration as soon as they heard about the threat.
