MAIFEST KICKOFF PICNIC BEGINS A WEEK OF ACTIVITIES

The kick-off to the 125th Maifest began this year with The Maifest President’s Kick-off Picnic, which was held this last night at the Fireman’s Park Pavilion Maifest.

The picnic featured German food, refreshments and entertainment, and the Antique Carousel was open, as well as a ribbon cutting, German food and drink, German entertainment by Allison Crowson, with a children’s Maipole dance, and a preview of entertainment for the weekend.

Also presented was the 9th grade art contest float that was built to full size.

Maifest President Heather Thielemann spoke to the crowd on what activities to expect for the rest of the Maifest weekend. 

The weekend downtown festivities begin with the parade Saturday morning at 10:30am, and the First Annual Royalty Run on Sunday beginning at 8:30am at Fireman's Park and ending back at the park at 9:30.
