STUDENTS TREATED AFTER NAVASOTA ISD SCHOOL BUS STRUCK IN REAR-END COLLISION

  

A Navasota ISD school bus was rear-ended this (Thursday) morning, causing students to have to go the hospital.

The accident occurred shortly after 7:45 a.m. on Highway 105, near County Road 446. 

DPS reports that a Dodge pickup traveling westbound behind the bus failed to control its speed and struck the rear of the bus as it approached Highway 105’s intersection with Highway 6.

According to the Navasota Examiner, there were 30 students and two adults on board the bus.  Eleven students were taken to St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

According to Navasota ISD, all students were assessed and were released to their parents or returned to school.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to a hospital in Tomball for injuries believed to be minor.  No information was available on whether the driver would face any charges or citations.
