WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER HIRING RECRUITER FOR 911 DIRECTOR, INTERIM HR DIRECTOR

Washington County Commissioners will seek to enter into agreements on Tuesday for the provision of a 911 Communications Director and an interim Human Resources Director.

Action on a proposal from Strategic Government Resources (SGR) for recruiting for the 911 Communications Director position was tabled from the court’s previous meeting.  The county’s emergency dispatch department has been led on an interim basis by Jerod Hartfield since the fall, following the resignations of former director Robyn Hood and former operations manager Shannon Selden.

The item from SGR for the interim Human Resources Director comes after Angela Mlcak stepped away from the position on April 24th.  According to County Judge John Durrenberger, Mlcak was able to find another opportunity in human resources closer to her home in Sealy.

Other business on Tuesday will include:

  • An agreement with CapRisk Consulting Group to perform actuarial valuation services for Fiscal Years 2024 through 2029.
  • A final plat for Old Washington Business Park, consisting of three lots along Highway 105 and Washington Cemetery Road in Precinct 1.
  • A final plat for the Oak Creek subdivision, consisting of five lots along Highway 105 and Old Navasota Road in Precinct 1.
  • A final plat for the Upshaw Road subdivision, consisting of five lots along Upshaw Road in Precinct 4.
  • A service agreement with SylogistGov, Inc. for the statewide automated victim notification service.
  • A proclamation declaring May 5-9 as Jury Appreciation Week in Washington County.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
