Wharton recently wrapped up his first legislative session after being elected to the House District 12 seat last year.

In his campaign announcement, Wharton touted accomplishments during the past session, including record contributions to public education, billions of dollars in property tax relief and border security measures, a new statewide water fund for water infrastructure projects, and his own bill creating a grant program to equip law enforcement vehicles with ballistic protection.

Wharton said, “We made serious progress, but our work isn’t done.  I’m running for reelection to keep delivering conservative wins—defending our values, protecting our communities, and securing a stronger future for Texas.”

House District 12 covers all of Washington, Grimes, Madison, Robertson and Walker counties and a portion of Brazos County.

Wharton, who just opened a new legislative district office in Huntsville on Tuesday, is set to head back to Austin for a 30-day special session beginning July 21st
