The Bellville community gathered Wednesday evening in memory of 8-year-old Virginia Hollis, who lost her life in the Hill Country floods.

Crowds lined the streets as a procession rode through town in honor of Virginia.  The procession traveled from San Antonio to Bellville and was led by numerous first responders, who escorted Virginia’s family and her horse, “Salt Valley”.

Virginia, who attended Faith Academy of Bellville, was among the campers at Camp Mystic when the Guadalupe River flooded over the Fourth of July weekend.  Friends and family say she was gentle, kind and a joyful soul.

Green ribbons, in honor of the Camp Mystic campers, adorned many of the vehicles in the procession and have been placed throughout Bellville.
