BURTON VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO IOLA IN FIVE SETS
It was the third meeting of the season between the Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team and the Iola Lady Bulldogs. Iola won the first meeting, while Burton won the second match, both of which were in tournament play. Just like the first two matches, it came down to the wire once again, and this time Iola managed to escape with the win on Friday.
Burton won the first set 25-8, Iola came back to win the second set 25-20, Burton won the third set 25-23, but then Iola took the final two sets 25-20 and 15-13.
Lexi Broesche had another big game with 10 kills, 16 digs, and three blocks. Kinsey Lunbeck had eight kills and five blocks. Amaya Williams added seven kills.
Paige Fritsch led the defense with 23 digs. Laci Broesche finished with 20 assists and 11 digs. Adison Harmel dished out 18 assists and chipped in with 14 digs.
Next up, the Lady Panthers will take part in a three-team match on Tuesday in Bellville. Burton takes on Round Top-Carmine at 4pm, followed by Bellville at 5:30pm. Bellville plays Round Top-Carmine at 7pm.
