LADY PANTHER BASKETBALL STAYS UNBEATEN WITH A WIN OVER SEALY
The Burton Lady Panther Basketball Team improved their record to 4-0 on the season with a 62-46 victory over Sealy last (Tuesday) night.
Burton took advantage of a big first quarter where they outscored the Lady Tigers 24-10. Sealy came back with a 16-10 second quarter, but the Lady Panthers still led at halftime 34-26.
Burton put the game away with a 17-9 third quarter to increase their advantage to 51-35. The two teams broke even in the fourth quarter with each scoring 11 points.
Harper Hodde led Burton with 19 points, while Val Hernandez added 12 points (on four 3-pointers).
Also scoring were Mya Rodriguez with 8 points, Aerynn Huntsman with 7 points, Amya Nickerson with 6 points, and Leilah Ellis and Peyton Schubert with 5 points each.
The Lady Panthers will be at the Caldwell Tournament Thursday-Saturday. On Thursday, they are scheduled to face McCallum at 12:45pm and Rockdale at 4:30pm.
