BRENHAM PD REPORTS MULTIPLE WEEKEND ARRESTS FOR DWI
Brenham police arrested six people over the weekend.
At approximately 7 p.m. Friday, Officer Mateo Guillen conducted a traffic stop near the 1800 block of the Highway 290 East frontage road for a defective brake light. The driver showed to have a warrant out of the Walker County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace for Assault Causing Bodily Injury. 20-year-old Camden Wassermann of Brenham was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Just shy of 11 p.m., Officer Karime Ortiz and Officer Gabriel Duran observed an equipment violation by a vehicle in the 3000 block of Highway 36 North. After conducting a traffic stop, police determined the driver was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed she had two outstanding warrants out of Brenham Municipal Court for No Driver’s License and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. 62-year-old Leticia Veliz of Somerville was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants and for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More. Veliz was transported to the Washington County Jail.
Around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Officer Brayten Rolling conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of North Park Street. The driver, 47-year-old Tancello Deniece Randle of Chappell Hill, was placed into custody and taken to the Washington County Jail without incident for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram and No Driver’s License.
Shortly after 10:15 p.m., Officers Ortiz and Duran conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Medical Parkway. Police say their on-scene investigation revealed that the driver was intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle with a child younger than 15. 64-year-old Jerry Lee Williams of Houston was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under 15 Years of Age. He was booked at the Washington County Jail.
Just after 9 a.m. Sunday, Officer Brayten Rolling conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Highway 290 West for an equipment violation. Police say after a probable cause search, they found the driver to be in possession of a usable amount of marijuana. 27-year-old Keyanna Nicole Morris of Humble was transported to the Washington County Jail and booked in for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz.
Approaching 11:15 p.m., Officer Evan O’Grady responded to the 2500 block of South Day Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. After further investigation, the driver, 22-year-old Jose Gamboa of Brenham, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
