Freshman forward Vianney Adame assisted freshman forward Chelsea Mentado for a goal in the 74th minute. Sophomore forward Khadeeja Rhoden added the Buccaneers' second goal six minutes later off an assist from sophomore midfielder Lilly Arellano.
“I was proud of our players who came off the bench and contributed to both goals,” Jackson added. “That showed mental fortitude.”
Blinn finished with eight shots, while sophomore goalkeeper Reese Cauthen made 11 saves.
“This game is behind us, and now we have to focus on Jacksonville and then get back to work the following week,” Jackson said.
Blinn continues Region 14 play with a road match against Jacksonville College at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Jacksonville, Texas.

No. 6 Tyler Junior College defeated Blinn College women's soccer 6-2 in a Region 14 clash Friday in Tyler, Texas.
The Buccaneers dropped to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in region play.
“Consistency is what it will take for us to be successful this year,” Blinn head coach Alexandria Jackson said. “We’ve had to change the lineup every game, and that starts in practice. As a coach, I need to bring that consistency out of them and find the right combinations.”
Blinn scored both of its goals in the second half.
