BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO ACT ON SETTING PHASE ONE SCOPE, NOT-TO-EXCEED BUDGET FOR BOND PROJECT

Brenham ISD’s maintenance bond project will be a main focus during Monday’s Brenham School Board meeting.

Trustees will consider formally approving the phase one program scope, establishing a not-to-exceed budget of $5,579,860, determining the best value procurement delivery methods, and delegating administrative authority to the superintendent or a designee for contract execution up to $1 million and change order approval with phase contingency funds.

Various projects across the district are included as part of the bond, including roofing repairs, flooring replacements, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing improvements.

Also at Monday’s meeting, the board will hear an update on Brenham ISD’s delinquent tax collections.  In related business, it will take action on a contingent fee contract with Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott, LLP for the collection of delinquent government receivables owed to the district.

Other items will include a public hearing on the district’s annual school FIRST financial accountability rating, consideration of the district and campus improvement plans and targeted improvement plans for Brenham Middle School and Krause Elementary School, and receipt of the annual bilingual and ESL program report.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
