Early voting is off to a fast start for the November midterm elections.

Annex Monday morning, just before the doors opened
for the start of early voting.
According to Washington County Elections Administrator Jennifer Gajeske, Monday saw 1,263 early voters come to the Washington County Courthouse Annex.
In comparison, 2022’s midterms drew 1,043 people on the first day of early voting. During the elections earlier this year, 525 voters came out for the opening of early voting in the March primary, while 1,005 participated on the first day of early voting for the May primary runoff.
Gajeske notes that there have been some changes to curbside voting. The front parking spots of the annex have been opened for handicap and voter parking, so the curbside voting has moved to the back parking lot of the annex. The parking area is at the corner of Alamo Street and Douglas Street. Yellow and black directional signs direct the voter from the front of the annex, down Main Street to Alamo Street to the curbside parking area.
Early voting hours at the courthouse annex are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. next Monday through Friday, October 26-30.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.
