BLINN SBDC OFFERS BASIC AND ADVANCED QUICKBOOKS COURSES
The Blinn College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host basic and advanced QuickBooks courses in January to teach small business owners to get the most from their accounting software.
The basic QuickBooks course will be Friday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Topics include setting up records, invoices, deposits and checks, accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card account reconciliation and running reports.
The basic QuickBooks course typically fills quickly, so participants should register early.
The advanced workshop will be Friday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is designed for those that have taken the basic-level class or are familiar with QuickBooks. Topics include analyzing financial data, setting up inventory, tracking and paying sales tax, payroll, estimating and progress invoicing, tracking time and forms and QuickBooks letters.
The advanced QuickBooks course is only offered once or twice per year.
Both workshops will be held in the Bullock Building on the corner of College Avenue and Prairie Lea Street in Brenham (map). Registration for each class is $100 per person and is available online at www.blinn.edu/sbdc. Questions may be directed to carol.doersom@blinn.edu or the SBDC office number at 979-830-4137.
Both classes will be taught by Julie Gilmer, a CPA and certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
